Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Tabled's booking platform. By using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Tabled ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our hospitality booking platform and services. Tabled is a technology platform that connects users with restaurants, lounges, clubs, and other hospitality venues in Lagos, Nigeria.

By accessing or using our website, mobile application, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our platform. Your continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Booking Service

Tabled as an Intermediary: Tabled operates as a booking intermediary platform. We facilitate reservations between users and venues but are not responsible for:

  • Venue quality, service standards, or food and beverage quality
  • Venue pricing, menu items, or availability
  • Venue operations, staffing, or management decisions
  • Third-party services or experiences at venues

Service Availability: Our booking service is available 24/7 through our website and mobile application. However, venue availability and booking confirmations are subject to the venues' own schedules and capacity.

Booking Confirmation: All bookings are subject to venue confirmation. While we strive to secure your requested reservation, final confirmation depends on venue availability and policies.

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of Tabled's services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating bookings
  • Arrive at venues on time for your confirmed reservations
  • Follow venue rules, dress codes, and policies
  • Behave respectfully toward venue staff and other patrons
  • Not use our service for any unlawful or prohibited activities
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to your booking requirements

Age Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. Some venues may have additional age restrictions for entry.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under your account.

4. Payment Terms

Booking Fees: Users pay a non-refundable booking fee to secure their table reservation. This fee covers our platform services and reservation management.

Venue Payments: Drinks, food, and other venue bills are settled directly with the venues at the time of service. Tabled does not handle payment for venue services unless specifically arranged for special requests.

Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through our integrated payment system. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payment methods.

Currency: All transactions are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless otherwise specified.

Taxes: Applicable taxes and service charges may be added to your booking fee as required by local regulations.

5. Cancellation Policy

Booking Fee: Our booking fee is non-refundable once payment has been processed and your reservation has been confirmed.

User Cancellations: If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. While the booking fee is non-refundable, we may be able to assist with rescheduling based on venue availability.

Late Arrivals and No-Shows: We are not liable for late arrivals or no-shows. Venues may release your table if you arrive significantly late, and no refunds will be provided for missed reservations.

Venue Cancellations: In the rare case that a venue cancels or adjusts your booking, we will step in to either secure you a comparable table or suggest priority alternatives. Our goal is to ensure your plans don't get stranded.

Venue Cancellation Support:

If a venue cancels your booking, we will work to find you an equivalent or better alternative at no additional cost. If no suitable alternative is available, we will provide a full refund of your booking fee.

6. Limitation of Liability

Service Limitations: Tabled's liability is limited to the booking fee paid by the user. We are not responsible for:

  • Venue cancellations, closures, or service disruptions
  • Late arrivals, no-shows, or user scheduling conflicts
  • Venue quality, food safety, or service standards
  • Personal property loss or damage at venues
  • Injuries or accidents occurring at venues
  • Third-party services or experiences

Maximum Liability: Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific booking in question.

Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or venue closures.

7. Venue Relationship

Independent Entities: Tabled and the venues listed on our platform are independent entities. We do not own, operate, or control the venues we feature.

Venue Policies: Each venue maintains its own policies regarding dress codes, age restrictions, service standards, and operational procedures. Users are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and complying with venue-specific requirements.

Venue Changes: Venues may change their operations, pricing, availability, or policies at any time without notice to Tabled. We strive to keep our platform updated, but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy of all venue information.

Disputes: Any disputes between users and venues should be resolved directly with the venue. Tabled may assist in facilitating communication but is not responsible for resolving such disputes.

8. Special Requests

Facilitated Payments: For special requests such as prepaid bottles, birthday surprises, or settling a friend's tab in advance, Tabled can facilitate payment on behalf of the client.

Request Requirements: Special requests must be:

  • Communicated clearly during the booking process
  • Subject to venue confirmation and availability
  • Paid in advance through our platform
  • Arranged at least 48 hours before the reservation date

Additional Fees: Special requests may incur additional service fees to cover coordination and payment processing.

Modifications: Changes to special requests are subject to venue approval and may not always be possible once confirmed.

Special Request Examples:

  • • Prepaid bottle service for celebrations
  • • Birthday decorations and surprises
  • • Advance payment for group dining
  • • Gift certificates and vouchers

9. Intellectual Property

Tabled Content: All content on our platform, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Tabled and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

User Content: By using our services, you grant Tabled a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute any content you submit to our platform for the purpose of providing our services.

Venue Content: Venue images, descriptions, and other content are provided by the venues and are used with permission. Venues retain ownership of their intellectual property.

Prohibited Uses: You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without express written permission.

10. Privacy Policy

Data Collection: We collect personal information necessary to provide our booking services, including name, contact information, and booking preferences.

Data Usage: Your personal information is used to:

  • Process and confirm your bookings
  • Communicate booking details and updates
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve our services and user experience

Data Protection: We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information and comply with applicable data protection laws.

Third-Party Sharing: We may share your information with venues to facilitate your bookings and with service providers who assist in our operations.

11. Modifications

Terms Updates: We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through our platform or via email.

Service Changes: We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time with or without notice.

User Notification: Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Effective Date: The effective date of any modifications will be clearly indicated in the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria.

Language: These Terms are provided in English. If translated into other languages, the English version shall prevail in case of any discrepancies.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
